ClassBase is a one stop shopping product. Using ClassBase means: having all the tools you need in ONE complete package. No separate modules, no tricks and no additional investments. Powerful, proven, easy to use and very affordable.

A ClassBase solution consists of two main components, the database (back-end) and the input- and output application (front-end). This is all there is and all you need to manage your safety efforts.

You can scale ClassBase to your needs. It is your choice how many concurrent  'power users' should use the system for unlocking and analyse all the information and how many concurrent 'users' should have access to only the input forms to report deviations.

Between users and power users is a broad variety possible in access rights, which you can manage completely to your needs. The integrity of your information is safe and for restricted eyes only.

Web based - company wide and safe

There are no limits for your organization to share, communicate and manage information about safety matters. You can have a full insight to the safety performance of every part of your company, world-wide, national or local.

The scope of the ClassBase solution is to deliver managers and experts information of all the determinants about safety, quality, integrity, environment etc. With the same tools it is also possible to record information about complaints, customer satisfaction etc. You can record every piece of information you want, including external reports, documents, pictures, movies and hyperlinks to information to build a complete electronic file. By extracting the data from your own point of view with the powerful ClassBase query tools, you are able to get everything out of the system that has come in.

Thanks to the hierarchical ClassBase catchword tree you are able to develop your own blueprint of your organization. Everything is possible, like a specification of the organization structure, kinds of work, disciplines, materials, chemicals, departments, causes, measures, injuries, people etc. etc. Just like the flowchart of your accounting package, ClassBase will offer you a 1:1 chart of all your disciplines with top- and an unlimited number of sublevels. Do you like to use ISRS or Tripod for your root cause analysis and classifications? No problem, you can define the categories of ISRS or the basic risk factors of Tripod in our catchword tree! With the ClassBase catchword tree your reports and input will be uniform and without interpretations. Furthermore, the use of the catchword tree stands for acceptation and progress of the report discipline of your employees. Easy to use and logical.

The web based input module is an electronically version of your paper report form. All categories you need will become available in consultation with you. The input module is like a custom mask over your catchword tree and database.

Just point and shoot with the mouse the wanted category and fill the screen by making use of the boxes, fields and lists from the underlying catchword tree. Every kind of query, list or report can be made instantaneously. Field names, labels and how fields should react are customisable.

Access to the ClassBase system is possible for everyone in- and outside the company, safely guarded by our access and authorisation system. Just fill in the right web address of the location where ClassBase will be found, enter the username and password (IP-address is also possible as well as other login procedures) and the web based input form will be available. Dynamically, because for every authentication a tuned form with more or less information on it will be available.

                                         

ClassBase is able to transfer report information to other persons in the organization after filling in a basic report, so validation, corrections etc. are possible. The automatic email function can also be used to inform other people about new reports, modifications, progress, actions etc. This workflow will support the organization in the communication, involvement and commitments between all levels.

The action- and alarm module in ClassBase is your guaranty that corrective measures are registered and  monitored for follow up. An unlimited number of actions, action takers and feedback information can be linked at reports.

                                                

Responsible managers will have an oversight of all mentions that are due dated, so  immediate and the right corrective actions can be taken. A fully automated and daily action list cumulates the most important feed back information of the measures that are due dated.

There are physically unlimited ways to unlock and analyse your precious stored data. From within any point of view you can collect data, join tables, make any criss-cross query you like and produce matrices, tables, reports, lists and any kind of graph you like.

                             

Extremely powerful is the 'catchword vs. catchword matrix', to compare any (range of) catchwords from the catchword tree with other (ranges of) catchwords from the catchword tree.

Next to the ‘free-format’ queries you can produce fixed reports, lists and overviews. You can use the build-in report templates or build them yourself. Any selection you've made to produce your report can be stored under a given name for future use.

                    

With fixed reports it's easy and fast to inform the management and the board of directors on daily, weekly, monthly etc. recurring basis about the efforts and results.

The Riskrate function in ClassBase represents a number (the Riskrate), which is calculated from an own in ClassBase defined possibility, chance and effect. You can use the Riskrate as a guideline for direct actions to be taken or a classification of the seriousness. 

The formula consist of three factors:

Chance x Effect x Frequency

You can define the content, the weight and the description of the factors yourself.

The (only) optional module you can buy for ClassBase is the Prisma root cause analysis module. With Prisma you can classify basic causes to root causes, based on the scientifically proven Eindhoven Classification Model of Failure. Prisma is able to generalize basic causes to technical-, human- or managerial causes.

                        

The Prisma module is developed in cooperation with Dr. Tjerk van der Schaaf of the Technical University Eindhoven, the Netherlands.  Instead of using the Prisma classification it is also possible to use Tripod, the ISRS or other classification methods. These factors can be implemented in the ClassBase catchword tree.

The latest version of ClassBase is a webbased version. When a Windows 2000x server is running with the active web server (IIS), the ClassBase database and ASP-application can be stored in a virtual folder on the web server. Any network and TCP/IP connected PC is now able to approach ClassBase.

                                                

We have put much effort in the authentication and authorisation of ClassBase access. First we have our access and authorisation system in ClassBase. Secondly a SQL-database is available and we support SSL and VPN connections. The access and authorisation system contains 99 different access levels you can use to grant 99 access levels in ClassBase.

ClassBase is the only safety tool you need to build your quantitative database to perform qualitative research. But as said before, ClassBase is not a target, loss control is the target. ClassBase is your tool for it. The management must be aware of a continuous process of plan, do, act and check and repeat this time after time.
